From the Seattle Times:

OLYMPIA — Sen. Andy Hill, R-Redmond and chief GOP budget writer, announced late Friday afternoon that he would not be running to challenge Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee in next year’s election.

As chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee, Hill has played a key role in crafting the state’s past two operating budgets.

The announcement came days after an email by the Senate Republican Campaign Committee signaled that Sen. Steve Litzow, R-Mercer Island, also would not run for governor.
