Bill Boyce - 47th Legislative District
Attending segregated schools as a child growing up in North Carolina, Bill later became the first black Councilman to serve on the Kent City Council. If elected, he will be the first black Senator from the 47th District.
When he first came to Washington, Bill was stationed at Fort Lewis as an US Army Airborne Ranger at 18 years old. He loved the area so much, he decided to stay.
Before being elected to the City Council, he served on the School Board for 16 years, including four terms as board president. He was appointed by Democratic Governor Gary Locke to provide oversight and accountability for police officers as the civilian at-large on the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. He has been a Human Resources leader at Boeing for over 30 years as well as serving on the Board for Harborview Medical Center.
