Senator Shelly Short - 7th Legislative District
Senator Short was first elected to the State House of Representatives in 2008, rising to the position of Caucus Chair. Soon after the start of the 2017 session, the 7th District Senator resigned and Sen. Short was appointed to serve as the new Senator for the 7th LD, going on to win with large margins in 2017. Shelly currently serves as the Ranking Minority Member of the Local Government Committee and continues to be a leader in fighting against unnecessary and burdensome agency rules and regulations that undermine individual rights and our economic prosperity.
Senator Short has served the people of the 7th District for the past 23 years and rose a family in the 7th ld with her husband Mitch. Before being elected to office, Shelly ran district offices for former Congressman George Nethercutt, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers and Representative Joel Kretz after working as a paralegal.
